*A WORD FROM THE CREATOR*
The year was about 1985 or '86
and it all started the moment I saw one particular movie, one movie that
would change my life, that movie was...Rocky III!!! I remember the moment
clearly, I was at my cousins place and there we were, watching Rocky 3 in
the basement on a little color tv. Of course I had heard of Rocky before but never
had seen any of the films, hey I was only about 8 or 9 years old at the time,
movies at this point in my life weren't very important to me. So there I was,
a young kid, eyeballs glued to the set not knowing what was happening to me, but
what I saw was inspiring, passionate, awesome! From Thunderlips manhandling
Rocky, to Rocky tearing off his gloves and dishing back a little what TL gave
him!
It was great, the passionate speech by Adrian to Rocky on the beach, and who could forget the training sequence with Apollo, and
the climatic fight with Mr.T, and the Eye of the Tiger song!!! Than there was the death of Mickey, as I would
watch the film later in my life, I am not ashamed to admit that I shed a tear
or two. He was what kept Rocky going for most of his illustrious career and to
have that taken away was a very sad moment for not only Rocky but fans of him as
well.
Unfortunately that was the last moment I would have with Stallone for quite sometime,
I was kid, I was busy with baseball, school, friends, summer vacations, who had time
for watching alot of movies, not me anyway. So as the years went by and the Stallone movies
did, I finally had another run in with the Sly one, my family went over to visit some of our
friends, and while all us kids were playing down in the basement again, upstairs playing in the
VCR on the tv was Rambo III, I went up stairs to watch a bit of it, the scene I remember watching is when
a piece of shrapnel shoots into Rambo's hip! I didn't pay too much attention, there were fun things
going down in the basement and I had to get back down there. Well my next stop of seeing Sylvester
was probably Tango & Cash, my parents had rented the movie and I was more than happy to watch, I was
beginning to catch the Sly Fever! I loved the movie, it was great! I wanted more though! Soon after
I think was when my Dad came back with another rental, it was Rocky 5! I do believe I had seen Rocky 4 but
it was such along time ago I can't remember when I saw it, or even if I did see all of it! Although I was disapointed
Rocky didn't step in the ring for the fifth installement it was a great movie, sad, but very inspiring! I was
hooked, another true Stallone fan had been awakened!
Soon after that I was watching anything of his I could, my best friend had a copy of Over the Top on video and
I watched it with him, no matter how many people hated the concept of the movie, I loved it, another Stallone
film that left me wanting more! I slowly had begun to get more interested in his physique, his muscles, deep down
I always wanted muscles like his (still do), but I began to pay more attention to the different physiques he had
in each film.
Not much longer I was at my best friends house again and had the honor of seeing the preview for CliffHanger
on TV! I wanted to see it, but never got to in the theater, but when it was available to rent, I was there! I was
astounded, just when I didn't think Stallone could get any better, he makes CliffHanger, okay the dialogue wasn't the best,
but the action, the scenery was breathtaking! It would be the last movie I would rent, I was determined to see any movie he
made there after in the theaters!
"Send A Maniac to Catch A Maniac", that was the next thing I would here Sylvester Stallone say, there I was on my 17th birthday
with my two best friends, sitting in a crowded theater watching DEMOLITON MAN! Life couldn't be anybetter, after the movie, I left
an even bigger fan of Stallone's! From there I would see Judge Dredd, The Specialist, Assasins,
DayLight, and Copland(twice), all in the theaters! By bringing my friends along with me, I'm sure I've made them even bigger
Sly fans than they might have ever thought as well!? In the entire process of my admiring Stallone in the theater over a period of
about 6-7 years I began to collect all of his films, and shortly after Demoliton Man I had begun to start working out and trying
to get in shape to look just like Stallone(still am), but after years of hunting down and emptying my wallet a few times I've managed
to collect 29 of his movies, even his A&E biography special, and the 30 minute SuperStars of Action tape hosted by Robert Wagner, not to mention
collecting a few articles and taping interviews and stuff
from TV. Today it's July of 1999, and I'm a bigger fan of Stallone than I've ever been, and I still get wide eyed everytime I see a movie of
his, just like back when I was watching Rocky 3 for the first time! His movies inspire, teach, excite, humor, and warm the heart! So if
your just discovering Stallone today, I suggest you go back and watch some of his early treasures like the Rocky's and Rambos and even early
stuff like F.I.S.T., Paradise Alley, and NightHawks and realize what every other Stallone fan already has, that he's truly a great actor, writer and director,
who's underapreciated by so many, but appreciated more than anyone else by his best Fans!
Well if your still reading this, either I'm an exciting writer, you want to learn more about other Stallone fans, or you're bored, I hope it's not
the latter. Well the reason I made a site like this was first and foremost to pay homage to my favorite actor, Sylvester Stallone. Another reason is,
well since Sly inspired me so much, and taught me a little of what's right and what's wrong and that no matter how bad it might get that anyone can
survive and end up on top, just like Rocky did.
Well after being hooked up to the internet for a couple years and searching for good information
on Stallone, I found a few really good sites, but that's about it, one big topic that I always wanted to know more about but could never really find
any good material on was his training and diet regimen, sure I'd get a few tidbits of info here and there but nothing to really satisfy my
curiousity. Well after making a site just about me, I have been deciding for several months if I should do something on Stallone, since he has been
such a big part of my life, well I finally decided that I would create a site where people can come to find the best pictures and information on Stallone's
Diet and Training Regimen! I've spent weeks on this site, creating the best website I could on this very hot topic, that I'm sure alot of people want to know
about, I know I do, and during the weeks of designing this site, I've been even more inspired to workout and live a healthy life, and I hope that's what people
do to. We should all take care of our bodies, we only have them once.
I hope that I have created a site that all Stallone fans will be impressed with and will want
to come back and let other people know about this site, that are Stallone fans or want to know about his training. I believe that people should be informed on Stallones training and diet regimen, like I always did but
never found many, if any good sites on his training and diet regimen. I've borrowed alot of pics and info from other sites, but rendered alot of the pictures and kind
of made them my own, and put together all the info on his training and diet and combined it all into one big page, in the info page of this site. This site will be updated
when I get more info and pictures of sly training and stuff. I encourage all Stallone fans to contribute to this site as well, if you have any info or pics that I do not
have that you think would help make this site even better, I would gladly accept them and give you a link to your page if you have one or give you the credit for the stuff
you supplied! I'll even accept art that you've done, considering I am an artist as well, I'd love to see Sly fan art contributed! Well I hope I didn't bore you too much, also if
you have any comments or questions feel free to e-mail me or post in the message board, I'll do my best to
answer to all questions or comments forwarded to me. Well I hope you enoy this site as much as I've enjoyed working on it! Keep that Eye of the Tiger, STALLONE 4VR!!!
