Stallone is very well known for his very muscular physique with hard work, determination and very good willpower! Even Arnold Shwarzenneger once said Sylvester has awesome willpower. But he has also had a very irregular diet that probably took more will power than even a bodybuilder could stand! It probably all started in his film Victory.

To get a lean look of a POW, Sylvester would eat only 200 calories a day, all protein food, with an occasional potato, just so he wouldn't faint! In the film he weighed in at 159 pounds, the lightest he ever weighed in his adult hood, that was until Rocky III...

Before Sly started filming Rocky 3, not only did he tell Mr.T to get more lean and muscular, he himself got even leaner and smaller to give more of a David vs. Goliath feel to the film. To get this effect Stallone dropped his body wieght to a mere 155 lbs., with a diet of 10 eggwhites and a burnt piece of toast once a day, and a piece of fruit every third day, although this diet left him weak and dizzy. He than built his muscle mass up ounce by ounce until he was up to about 175, although in the film they say he wieghs 193 just because it would be too unrealistic to have a 175 middle wieght boxer go up against a 215 pound monster!

I'm sure everyone knows about Sly's pigging out on high fat, high cholesterol foods to gain 40 pounds for his role in Copland! Well it's been a while since the movie was finished filming in 1997, since than Stallone has taken the wieght off but to do this he went on an all eggwhite diet and lived on the treadmill. He now weighs around the area of 175-180 lbs.

Alot of Stallone's dieting methods although he found them good to lose wieght in extreme ways for a role, they actually aren't very healthy, and Sly himself admitted later in a magazine interview that his diets were unhealthy and the best way to lose wieght and stay healthy is a balanced nutritional meal and regular exercise! But than again he was training like a body builder and was eating like a body builder as well, to look like a body builder which requires one to be very extreme in dieting and exercising...
